Below is a photo of Caesar’s Palace taken on my weekend trip to Las Vegas. I wish I could devote more time into travelling but my schedule forbids me to do so. Priorities will always be in the way when I want to do things for my own creative leisure. Hopefully, come May of 2009 I will be able to take a long-term trip back to China and take more shots there.

Nocturne WordPress Template / Photografiks
November 20, 2008 | Published by Chris Takakura |
Photografiks (after about 4 years of delay) is online! Surprise surprise once again. Click on the photografiks link on the navigation up top to go to it. More additions will come to photographiks once I have more time.
Also this wordpress template will be up for grabs as a template file for your own wordpress website in 2009. Yes, that means you can download the template and apply it as your “style”. The header image bar where it says my site name, my site logo, the footer information link with my site name will all be excluded from the template file. I am even willing to throw in my .PSD file for you guys to download with the package. All for free.
This means that Nocturne is going to get a face lift sometime in the near future. I know that the blog came out just 2 month’s ago but there are exciting upgrades coming to the site. Hold on.
Fake tilt-shift effect

Synergy: Make sure you check this guys stuff out. It’s outrageous. He used to be my hostee long ago when I hosted people on my server. He’s back with a different role and I am happy to have him on board. Again, make sure you check out his stuff and pay attention to what he has to say on here. He will probably update more than I do :P
Ever wondered how to modify a photo into a toy model set? The fake tilt-shift effect does just that. This strategy uses the lens blur to its best in photoshop. I took a 2-hour downtown walk around San Jose and applied a falling angle on this shot. When processing, I used the effect to make the cars look like a miniature set.
This was my second test at the effect. I would need to explore more interesting places to get a better view and effect. I think it turned out somehwat ok. Any thoughts? =]
