I had to post this classic funny video before I go on about 2012:

So anyway, no this is not some religious post about the year 2012 and the apocalypse (I am agnostic). No this is not a lengthy post about all the reasons to believe we are going to all die. This is actually a bit humorous.

So people are stating that December 21st, 2012 is the day in astronomy that is an extremely close conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator. Galactic Equator as in the equator of the milky way. And not only the galactic equator but the Ecliptic, which basically is the path of the sun. This event doesn’t happen for thousands and thousands of years. Who knows if it even happened when mankind existed.

Have you ever thought about releasing a remix package like your wallpapers for your e-books?

This is an excellent idea but it really isn’t possible. Why? Well it’s because the book uses fonts that require people to “buy”. The fonts I used weren’t free and providing a indesign package would have to mean that I give out the fonts as well (or else the fonts won’t be the same). Of course I can just release it saying “use any font you want”, but I am sure some if not most won’t want to download a package file with fonts that are not the same.

What font do you use for Dawn and Depereo?

Foundry Gridnik and Adobe Caslon (small caps) for the most part.

What software did you use for your e-books?

Well the 2nd question kind of gave this answer away but I used Adobe Indesign

Whats the status on your next book?

If you’re talking about “Hana”, it won’t be out this year. Sorry.

You have been releasing things without much signs lately. Is there a reason to it?

Just want to surprise people. Photografik was one of those things. We will see how far I go with Photografiks.

Are you going to release 1920 versions of your wallpapers?

Yes sooner or later. Don’t expect ALL my wallpapers to be available in 1920 format though. You have to understand some were designed back in 2003 when 1920 was a ridiculous format for anyone to have.

You are Japanese and you have been trying to incorporate your culture into your site more. How do you feel about the Japanese culture?

I love Japan and it’s culture. I think a lot people over there are close minded about other cultures outside their own but yeah that’s their problem and not mine.

Do you listen to Jpop?

No I do not. I’m too into western music to understand eastern music. And western as in Canada, United States, Europe. Ok I like Silverchair so I guess one band outside the western culture comes to play.

Do you have a favorite Japanese celebrity?

Ummm if anyone, I think it would be Tokiwa Takako (actress).

What design era is your favorite?

Don’t really have one to be honest.

What is your biggest pet peeve design related?

Commercial designs with horrible kerning. Gutters annoy me too. I used to not care too much but lately I been a bit OCD about it.

I know I haven’t posted in like a week, I just been really busy with work and that isn’t going to slow down this month unfortunately. That is solely the reason why “Hana” book is not coming out on a timely manner so I apologize.

So if any of you pay attention to my youtube channel, I have removed the “fragile” video from the collections. The reason is because youtube has sent me a e-mail stating that I am infringing copyright issues wih my “loop” of The Wretched (versions).

I swear, the record industry is starting to lose the idea of an “educational” product versus a valid stolen music. I OWN The Wretched (versions) and all I did was use a loop segment of that song. Let’s really sit and think of a minute. Who the hell is going to steal that loop from the youtube flash file and burn it and listen to it over and over again in their car or ipod?

Okay… maybe someone with audio OCD…
