A lil update here and there!

Date February 18, 2009 | Published by |

Liang Ge Photography has been revamped in the past couple of days. I’ve pretty much taken out the old, rugged, unappealing photos from my photoblog and re-installed Pixelpost to backtrack all the decent ones. Given that most of my time has been devoted to studying, my photoblog has not been updated recently. I’ve given the “1 photo every 3 days” approach, and seems like it might extend to 4 or 5 days. It’s just been that hectic for me but I’m trying my best here to post as much as I can. Below are some portraits I shot a couple of weeks ago.

As if the Udon Photo was not enough, I have three new photos to show you guys! If you’re too lazy to type liang-ge.com and actually visit my photoblog, I’ll just display them here. Hope everybody had a great Happy New Year and hopefully won’t starve to death while looking at these!

I recently noticed that since I’ve been appointed an author on Dream Infinity, I haven’t posted that much here. So I decided to show you a bit of the food photography that has been in session. Enjoy!

Travel Photography

Below is a photo of Caesar’s Palace taken on my weekend trip to Las Vegas.  I wish I could devote more time into travelling but my schedule forbids me to do so.  Priorities will always be in the way when I want to do things for my own creative leisure.  Hopefully, come May of 2009 I will be able to take a long-term trip back to China and take more shots there.

Fake tilt-shift effect

Synergy: Make sure you check this guys stuff out. It’s outrageous. He used to be my hostee long ago when I hosted people on my server. He’s back with a different role and I am happy to have him on board. Again, make sure you check out his stuff and pay attention to what he has to say on here. He will probably update more than I do :P

Ever wondered how to modify a photo into a toy model set? The fake tilt-shift effect does just that. This strategy uses the lens blur to its best in photoshop. I took a 2-hour downtown walk around San Jose and applied a falling angle on this shot. When processing, I used the effect to make the cars look like a miniature set.

This was my second test at the effect. I would need to explore more interesting places to get a better view and effect. I think it turned out somehwat ok. Any thoughts? =]
