Apologies for no updates

Date August 9, 2011 | Published by |

I deeply apologize for the lack of updates the past couple of month’s. It’s very saddening to know that my last update was in March and I literally haven’t touched any part of the site since then. But please do understand that it is not my intention to neglect this site and this site is still very important to me.

If you haven’t noticed, my portfolio page has been singled out and separated away from this domain a couple of months ago. This move was done through various reasons but mainly to promote myself as an independent freelance artist under my legal name instead of “Dream Infinity Studios”. But do not think that I have gone through all these months without having some sort of plan or an update schedule of some kind. Here are somethings I have been working on:

I have been working on a series of wallpapers titled “Doppelganger”, which is an artistic approach to the styles of love developed by John Lee and further explored by Clyde Hendrick and Susan Hendrick. (For more details: Click here) The wallpaper will be 6 different wallpapers based on these styles and some further exploration of my artistic approach to communicating science theories with typography and manipulation. Before I forget, the conceptual and imagery development was a collaborative work between myself and a good friend.

Nocturne Shiva v15.4.0

It was September of 2010, when I was coding a very intricate new version of my website. So many things have evolved with my studio and my design business that I can’t even pick up where I left off from. Nocturne Shiva, my next version and re-structure of dreaminfinity.com is in the works and I have so many exciting new changes in store, I am excited to share them. The only problem is that the lack of time for me is what is preventing me from updating my site and I am hoping that I can get this new version up and running by the end of this year.

Either way I am alive and I thank you very much for the patience. Doppelganger series will be released very soon.

Nocturne Shiva (v. 15.4.0), Hana E-Book

Date October 13, 2010 | Published by |

Year 2010 is almost coming to a close. It is amazing how time flies by, especially when coming to a dull realization that I barely released any type of wallpapers this year. The worst part of it all is that I announced Hana back in November of 2008, and now it is 2010, without the project being close to the surface yet. But we cannot ignore the fact that 2009 and 2010 were pretty big years for Dream Infinity Studios. I released version 15.3.0 of the website in October of 2009, and June of 2010 was the release of execution 4, “Love Drawn Dagger”. Productive? Sure. In large quantities? Not so sure.

I have to say that I have had a staggering amount of client work this year and that has sucked up a lot of my time. It is no doubt that I would wish to just sit back and release free stuff for my visitors all the time but some how life tends to get in the way and not allow that some time. So either way, I would like to put on some announcements of what I have planned so far.

The portfolio site you see today is going to get a little bit of an interface upgrade. Right now I feel like things are a bit too big so I am trying to go for a more minimal and clean approach. Speaking of clean and minimal, the next version of Nocturne dubbed “Shiva” has been in the works for quite some time. As a matter of fact, it started pre-production about 4 months after Phoenix was released but it was not something I took into immediate consideration. During the summer of 2010 I decided it was a good time to at least start thinking about the next version. Subtle teasers and hints started to appear on my Twitter page as well as my facebook page (if you are a “fan of the page, you should still be able to see it). However the concept has largely changed and the next Nocture version is going for a more minimal yet brutal approach to content delivery, speed, and organization. One good organizational uplift I am considering for the new version is the tutorials section. Certain sections are going to disappear indefinitely and new pages will appear for your pleasure.

My next electronic book titled “Hana” is planned to be released before the year’s end. Now remember that I have promised or announced many things in the past that still hasn’t seen the light of day. (Like hello? What happened to Perplex, Twilight Nocturne?) But my current plan is to release my newly revamped portfolio site (with motion graphics section finally working), and then to start full on to my next e-book.

I know blog posting has been scarce but I will do my best to be frequent about it for whats left of the year. I mean I seriously have the urge to have that feeling of productiveness when it comes to Dream Infinity Studios.

Holy cow!

Date March 11, 2010 | Published by |

I apologize sincerely for the lack of updates coming into the new year. I have been busy with a lot of client side projects and it has been a hectic year so far. A year ago today I already busted out 2 wallpapers and I again apologize that it’s not like that this year. As you can tell, a lot of my time spent has been on my new portfolio site (which the motion graphics section isn’t complete yet) and a new content tutorials here and there but it’s just not ready to get published yet.

So to be fair, I want to expose the laundry list of stuff that I am planning to do this year:

- Get the motion graphics section running. I know this isn’t your typical cup of tea you want from my site but it needs to be done
- Collaborative wallpaper with Kjell-Roger Ringstad
- 2 wallpapers are on the works here and there
- Version 15.3.5. There are certain things on this site I am not really keen with in terms of design and content.
- Tutorials, both written and video
- “Hana” book. I know I promised Q1 of 2010. I am going to try my best to do this, although April is likely. And April is already Q2 2010…

So again, sincere apologies. I promise to deliver some of the list I mentioned above within this year.

Happy New Year!

Date January 16, 2010 | Published by |

Sorry for the lack of updates already in the New Year. I have been busy with a load of stuff that’s basically all client side related. However it is important to mention that I have a lot of projects in store this year. First and foremost, a new e-book titled “Hana” will be released in the first quarter of this year. Also in store is a major update for the tutorials section of this website as well as some wallpapers I have been working on for a while. Nocturne Phoenix version will probably reach up to 15.3.5 sometime this year, with some minor to major changes in design and function of the site.

Either way, sorry this post is short, but more news soon as things get revealed and close to final.

More tutorials on the way

Date November 29, 2009 | Published by |

Beauty Tutorials

I usually post a load of materials once I update the site, but this time around I just been busy with so many other things it’s been difficult. Either way, I have long been working on new tutorials and those changes will be coming soon. Also I am sure many of you are wondering where web design tutorials are so just want to make it clear that those are coming too, and it’s not something that will take 3 years.

One controversial topic on the internet and any Photoshop user is the idea of using the program as a beauty modification program. Although there are many things done before final product towards models (especially towards females), it is important to highlight that I do not take practice in using Photoshop to make females look skinnier, or someone that they are not. I state this due to the fact that some of the tutorials that are coming soon are strongly based on how to apply virtual make up, dye hair, and add body tattoo’s using strictly Photoshop. Although this does “enhance” the models into a more attractive perspective, I don’t find this to be ethically wrong because everyone applies make up, dyes their hair and gets tattoo’s. What I find to be ethically disturbing are tutorials that cover how to change nose shapes, give models stronger jaw lines, or even as far as enhancing breasts using Photoshop.

This blog post over at Smashing Magazine is stirring quite a controversy among readers based on their list of tutorial round up. Although I don’t particularly agree to MANY of the tutorials listed on that site, I do find the hair dye tutorial to be exactly the same method that I have been using for a while now.

Tutorials that cover other subjects such as text effects and more are also coming soon. Thanks for the patience.
