Spyre Studios has pretty good article about creating a resume using Adobe Indesign. Spyre Studios is a website that I read frequently and I have to say I was a bit disappointed in some of the suggestions that their article covered. First off it is a good idea to have different versions of your CV/Resume. The two core file formats to have your CV/Resume in is Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) and Adobe PDF. A lot of the times clients and employers are okay with opening PDF files, but I have had cases where they want your CV/Resume in a Word format so it is always a good idea to have one prepared.

Today I would like to cover a lot of misconceptions but most importantly the best practical approach on using “three” basic design software created by Adobe. This article/tutorial covers mostly the three practical softwares to use for art and design, which are, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. As more and more features get added from version upgrades and update patches, it is important as a designer to understand which software is the best solution to reach the optimal results in your freelance projects or your personal projects.

Year 2010 is almost coming to a close. It is amazing how time flies by, especially when coming to a dull realization that I barely released any type of wallpapers this year. The worst part of it all is that I announced Hana back in November of 2008, and now it is 2010, without the project being close to the surface yet. But we cannot ignore the fact that 2009 and 2010 were pretty big years for Dream Infinity Studios. I released version 15.3.0 of the website in October of 2009, and June of 2010 was the release of execution 4, “Love Drawn Dagger”. Productive? Sure. In large quantities? Not so sure.
I have to say that I have had a staggering amount of client work this year and that has sucked up a lot of my time. It is no doubt that I would wish to just sit back and release free stuff for my visitors all the time but some how life tends to get in the way and not allow that some time. So either way, I would like to put on some announcements of what I have planned so far.
The portfolio site you see today is going to get a little bit of an interface upgrade. Right now I feel like things are a bit too big so I am trying to go for a more minimal and clean approach. Speaking of clean and minimal, the next version of Nocturne dubbed “Shiva” has been in the works for quite some time. As a matter of fact, it started pre-production about 4 months after Phoenix was released but it was not something I took into immediate consideration. During the summer of 2010 I decided it was a good time to at least start thinking about the next version. Subtle teasers and hints started to appear on my Twitter page as well as my facebook page (if you are a “fan of the page, you should still be able to see it). However the concept has largely changed and the next Nocture version is going for a more minimal yet brutal approach to content delivery, speed, and organization. One good organizational uplift I am considering for the new version is the tutorials section. Certain sections are going to disappear indefinitely and new pages will appear for your pleasure.
My next electronic book titled “Hana” is planned to be released before the year’s end. Now remember that I have promised or announced many things in the past that still hasn’t seen the light of day. (Like hello? What happened to Perplex, Twilight Nocturne?) But my current plan is to release my newly revamped portfolio site (with motion graphics section finally working), and then to start full on to my next e-book.
I know blog posting has been scarce but I will do my best to be frequent about it for whats left of the year. I mean I seriously have the urge to have that feeling of productiveness when it comes to Dream Infinity Studios.

Dream Infinity Studios would like to take a moment to state that the studio supports the men and women of the armed forces and the tragedy of September 11th, 2001 to the fullest. Please take a moment to remember this tragic day and the people who have died due to the terrorist attacks and over sea’s in combat.
Much love.

Geonosis
So I have been quite absent with releasing new wallpapers and print pieces in 2010. In all honesty, after designing Afterburner: Commence in August of 2009, I kind of felt like I had to re-invent myself yet again to pursue a new degree and generation of digital illustration work that I display on my site. To quickly go over a history of the “reinvention” that I have done, back in 2006 I went through a designers block where I felt like my wallpaper and print design pieces have not evolved in the past 4 to 5 years. That disturbed me a lot and bothered me to a point where I significantly forced myself to acquire new Photoshop skills and the production of digital art pieces as a whole. After this initial reinvention, it resulted in quite successful pieces such as Trans Minimum: Kasha, Stridence, Eternus Somnium, Leviathan, and so on…
Of course I have had quite a success in the end of 2009 and 2010 with personal clients so that has been taking up a lot of my time. I also put together and released the film portion of Execution 4 //: The Mind Games Initiative, as well as my 3rd e-book: Hana. I have been far from dead in terms of producing work for Dream Infinity Studios, just have been slow with the result and releasing it out onto this website.
So, in the Winter of 2009, almost immediately after the release of “Nocturne Phoenix”, I went through yet another personal reinvention again to prepare myself to do a whole new direction and work flow of my digital illustration art work. After several months of hiatus in the wallpaper department, the day where you get to see my first piece of the result of new techniques and work flow comes live. I present to you Geonosis.
I also had a pleasure working with a photo piece from photographer, Jessica Truscott, who shot a quite awesome model shot included in Geonosis. You can visit her site here.
